Yesterday, Supreme Court of Luxembourg upheld the ruling of Court of Appeal of that country on illegality of the seizure of assets of Central Bank in Luxembourg.
IBENA- According to public relations of the Central Bank of Iran, Dr. Hemmati stated: Based on the Central Bank's lawyers, following favorable verdict of Luxembourg Court of Appeals, The Supreme Court also rejected appeal of the so-called counterterrorism lawsuit in the United States. It upheld lifting of the seizure of central bank in Luxembourg and ordered the appellant to pay damages and costs to appellate court.
Dr.Hemmati added: With issuance of this ruling, other Luxembourg courts will also be obliged to comply with it, and thus, judicial obstacle to transfer of Central Bank's assets to the country has been removed.
