IBENA-The memorandum of cooperation against money laundering and terrorist financing was signed at the meeting of Eurasian Working Group in Tajikistan and Our main approach is also development of country's interactions of our country with other countries, especially Eurasian working group compared to the past, and in this regard, increasing cooperation in transfer of knowledge, education and cultivation, fighting international money laundering networks, as the financing of terrorism, Hadi Khani; Secretary of Supreme Council of Prevention and Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Crimes, in an interview with reporter of IBENA, announced the signing of a memorandum of cooperation against money laundering and terrorist financing with Uzbekistan and said.

For the first time, we presented a detailed and comprehensive report on Iran's upcoming and effective measures in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing to Working Group of Eurasian Regional, which is reflected in Eurasian and FATF newsletters, so that friend and aligned countries with Islamic Republic should know that reason for delay in membership of Iran in FATF was due to t dual, non-technical and political dealings of this institution with Iran in the past, and the mentality that Islamic Republic is not serious in combating money laundering and terrorist financing is fundamentally wrong, he stated.

Trying to have a more active presence in the field of explaining and informing about will and determination of Iran, by developing bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements and making regional alliances and then our country's measures in combating money laundering, and terrorist financing and do not leave it by negative atmospheres of hostile countries with the aim of disappointing friendly and aligned countries with Iran, Khani stated.

Many measures have been taken in order to clarify in Iran, which were not reflected in time due to political confrontations against the country. But in "people's government", Iran's approach has changed to explain more precisely actions in order to provide maximum benefits of the country, Deputy Minister of Economy emphasized.

According to him, so far we have signed memorandums of combating to money laundering and terrorist financing with 15 countries, and we will soon sign memorandums with Turkey and India.

Internal coalitions made by the aim of synergizing the anti-corruption capacities of the country and overseas coalitions are also on the agenda, and soon will make a 6-way coalition with Russia, Syria, Iraq, and Turkey and Afghanistan with the aim of combating terrorist financing, combating drug financing, and combating the financing of arms trafficking. This will be implemented in line with the approach of increasing Iran's interactions with our friendly countries, Secretary of Supreme Council for Prevention and Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism stated.

Also, referring to latest status of membership of Iran in FATF, continuation of expert discussions of Council of Expediency on approval of Palermo and CFT, Khani announced and said: Currently, have implemented a significant part of standards of FATF, and looking to pursue and develop the interactions based on maximum provision of the country's by determining status of two conventions "Palermo" (United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime) and "CFT" (combating the financing of terrorism).

A significant part of plan of agreed measure between Islamic Republic of Iran and FATF has been implemented, and today the country is ahead of some currently members of FATF in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing, he added.

We are trying to realize the path of clarifying financial interactions and solving the problems of economic activists by these measures: Definitely approval of "Palermo" and "CFT" in Expediency Council, Iran's withdrawal from blacklist of FATF will be facilitated. Although time is not known, Expediency Council continues its expert work and related meetings, and there is a strong will to decide on these two issues in Council of Expediency, the head of Financial Information Unite (FIU) stated, and emphasized.
