In the side lines of World Forum of Central Securities Depositories, Mohammad Reza Mohseni and Hossein Fahimi, Heads of Central Securities Depository of Iran's board, visited with Euroclear's delegates.
During the meeting with Bernald Felon, Euroclear's delegate, Central Securities depository of Iran's representatives voiced Iran's capital market and Central Securities Depository of Iran's enthusiasm concerning cooperation with Euroclear to open Custodian account, settle the cross-border deals, exchange knowledge and experiences, and it was welcomed by European side.
Euroclear's delegate elaborated on the company's activities in Europe, mentioning European financial institutions' willingness for having cooperation with Iran, stating Euroclear is considering legal, technical, contract and infrastructure aspects to collaborate with Iran's capital market, expressing the hope that as soon as possible we embark on an executive phase of this cooperation.
At a separate meeting with Walter, another Euroclear's delegate in World Forum of Central Securities Depositories (WFC) , Central Securities Depository of Iran's representatives delineated Iran's capital market's measures for entering global markets.
Wlter suggested to ink an agreement between Euroclear and Central Securities Depository of Iran to expedite the policies of cooperation by making a joint working group.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided Euroclear's delegates to travel to Iran in near future to sign the agreement with Central Securities Depository of Iran and also the circumstances be prepared for exchanging two- sided knowledge and experiences.
It is worth mentioning that WFC and General Assembly of Central Asia and Pacific Depositories were held in Hog Kong simultaneously last week and Central Securities Depository of Iran's representatives had negotiations with Euroclear, Central Securities Depositories of Russia, Taiwan and South Korea's delegates to expand international collaboration.
