Using National Currencies on Iran,Syria Agenda

Central Bank of Iran's Governor and Syrian Minister of Economy in a cordial meeting emphasized the expansion of banking relations and using two countries' national currencies.

In the meeting held on Monday morning, the policies of expanding monetary and banking transaction, exchanging bank accounts, smoothing money transfer, developing commercial banks relations and establishing joint banks between two countries were reviewed.



Hemmati said the expansion of the banking relations is a precondition for developing trade exchanges between two countries and it is in line with the economic cooperation agreement, adding implementing and expanding trade interactions in national currencies in on the agenda.



The official stated that we should go toward eliminating non-national currency gradually in bilateral trade. Central Bank of Iran's Governor pointed to Iran and Syria strategic relations and the failure of enemies' plots against Syrians, stressing Iran's readiness for expanding two countries economic relations.
